Gala Performance Choreography

Semi-Finals Aspire and Legacy Award recipients as well as the Competitive Junior/Senior 1st and 2nd Place winners will be part of an exclusive opportunity to work with world-renowned choreographers Peter Chu & Jodie Gates on a collaborative World Premiere piece for the UBC Grand Prix Finals Gala.

Jodie Gates

"A unique choreographic collaboration with two internationally recognized choreographers, Peter Chu and Jodie Gates. The duo looks forward to creating a powerful fusion of contemporary ballet, inspired by their shared movement experiences on stage and artistic vision that will shine a light on each dancer while creating community." - Jodie Gates

Peter Chu

"Collaboration is vital at this stage in my career, as it enables us to blend our minds, visions, and approaches to discover common ground. Without partnering with others, I risk remaining in my comfort zone. I'm excited to work with the inspiring Jodie Gates—it will be an incredible journey and a valuable learning experience for everyone involved. We are thrilled to be in the studio with the participants for next season!” -Peter Chu
